WOW!! What a great day! We are so happy to report that race day seemed to go off without a hitch! We had a beautiful (and hot!) day, with lots of happy faces crossing the finish line….despite some…challenging conditions?! Some trail “improvement” work that had not started when we test rode the route, that we were not aware of before race day offered a challenging final 10km for those that rode the full century route that made for great memories (and a few f-bombs)
Maybe not your typical gravel race, but true to all our our events, we saw some challenges by mother nature (we heard there were fish and leeches in the flooded sections!) and racers who were at their first race, and seasoned riders as well.
We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all who made this ride possible:
Our prize sponsors: Trailhead, Frontenac County, K&P Brewery and the Trans Canada Trail.
Our site host, K&P Brewery
Our friends and family who helped us with course testing, marking, marshalling and safety, site set up and take down, check in, and giving us the time and space away to make this event (and all others!) happen
And to YOU! Those that trusted us with your Sunday, and came out and supported what we are trying to do. We could not put on these events if we did not have adventurous folks like our racers. Thank you 🙂
PHOTOS (we’ll keep adding as we collect more)
THE ROUTE (in case you didn’t get to ride, and/or wanna see what the course was!) This is the full route on Strava, the half century riders rode the north loop. If you would like the GPX files, please drop us an email and we’d be happy to share them with you!
Yours on the trail,
Michelle & Tammie
