Race the CAT 2023 recap

“Wait, what? This is beautiful day! Where’s all the rain and mud?”

race the CAT 2022

This was one of the first comments made by one of the first participants to arrive. Clearly they had raced the CAT the previous two years:)

Weather wise, the day was perfect! Not too hot, not too cold and the trails were hard, dry and fast. Our top two finishers completed 5 laps, three completed 4 laps and the rest were fairly evenly balanced between 3 and 4 laps, and our last race to cross the finish line did so with less than 2 minutes on the clock. Our women’s podium saw 25 seconds between first and second place! Final results can be found here, thanks to Running Goat Timing, who has been timing this event since year one.

While you were all moving pretty fast on the course on Sunday, our rural internet the past couple of days has NOT. But we have FINALLY got photos uploaded, and will continue to add more as we can.

A huge thank you to team The Beckson’s, who caught some fun drone footage of the beginning of the race, you can catch a sneak peek below, we’ll share more in the coming weeks.

We’d like to thank J&J Cycle, Trailhead Kingston, the Gould Lake Outdoor Centre, Corcoran Excavating, MTB Kingston and Subaru of Kingston for their support in the Cataraqui Adventure Trek.

We hope hope to see you next year!
