What a glorious day we had for the Cataraqui Adventure Trek on September 15, 2024!
This year, racers started up the driveway, and had to run about 500 metres to transition zone. They hopped on their bikes and rode about 5 km single track loop, complete with our field feature, this year a figure 8 as this was the 8th Race the CAT. Back into transition for a 2ish km trail run which ended at the water where they hopped into kayaks or canoes and did a short 800m out and back. They then crossed the finish line, and went out for another lap! (or 3, or 4…one racer completed 6 laps!)
Racers had four hours to complete as many laps as they could (or wanted to). We saw a few racers squeak their last lap out with under 5 minutes left on the clock…and a couple teams that completed a lap that didn’t “count” as they came in a few minutes AFTER the four hour mark! We also saw more youth race this year, with 5 racers 16 years and under!
